Non-urgent advice: Extended Access

The NHS 111 service is staffed by a team of fully trained advisers, supported by experienced nurses. They will ask you questions to assess your symptoms, give you the healthcare advice you need or direct you straightaway to the local service that can help you best.

We do offer a limited number of evening appointments between 18:30 – 19:30 and also week-end appointments. Please ask at reception for details. Phone lines are open from 08:30 – 12:30 then again from 13:30 – 18:00.

Accessibility

At St Stephens Surgery and Maple View Medical Practice, we are committed to ensuring that all patients have a positive experience with us. We have implemented reasonable adjustments to ensure access for all. This includes:

  • Afternoon appointments 
    We know how a busy waiting area can be daunting and overwhelming. To support you on your visit, we can offer you appointments in the afternoon during quieter periods. We can also provide quieter areas for you to wait.
  • Translation service
    Our care navigators can arrange a translator for you prior to your appointment so that you are able to gain the most out of your visit or telephone call. Please let the surgery know if you require any communication or information support needs.
  • Bathroom and changing facilities
    There is wheelchair access and baby changing facilities in the patients’ toilet near the waiting room.
  • Other facilities
    Our practice also provide but do not limit to, ramps, easy read signs, access for blue badge holders and offer a personal service should you need it.

Parking and Transport

Maple View Medical Centre: There is a public car park opposite the shops which is available to staff and patients. Unfortunately St Stephens Surgery does not have available parking for patients. Alternatively, please use one of the below for travelling.

Train Station Parking: Located just a 2-minute drive away, providing additional parking options.(for St Stephens Surgery ONLY)

Public Transport: Taxi services and a local bus station are also available for easy access to our surgery.
